What changes when you pay for Deluxe?
Both editions contain the same game. The useful comparison is whether the extra looks are ones you would actually use, not how long the bonus list appears.

Where each bonus actually appears
Some rewards are visible during the first Hawks customization screen; others stay hidden until the opening battle tutorial or later story progress is complete.

Count the cosmetics you would equip, not the bullet points
The Grand Army pack contains a Republic Officer uniform, 100th Clone Company armor, and ARC Trooper armor. The Shadow Collective pack adds a Pyke helmet plus Pyke Syndicate, Hutt Cartel, Death Watch, Black Sun Syndicate, and Crimson Dawn tattoos. Five weapon themes round out the bundle.
That is a substantial styling kit if you plan to build a Clone-themed squad or an underworld-looking Hawks. If you usually leave default appearances alone, Deluxe does not change a mission, Operator stat, or tactical option listed by EA. Standard is the cleaner purchase in that case.
The preorder droids are not a Deluxe perk
The Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack went to anyone who ordered Standard or Deluxe before August 27, 2026. Buying Deluxe after launch does not recreate that preorder entitlement. This is the easiest part of the edition chart to misread.
Eligible players still have to reach it in the story. Finish the Smugglers’ Manifest Operation in Cycle 5, complete any available Holotable mission, then speak to M-3VO in the Den. EA says many players reach that point in roughly an hour, but difficulty and play style can move the timing.
Why painted weapons are missing at the start
Weapon themes do not appear during the first character setup. Finish the initial battle tutorial, enter the Den, open the Armory, choose a squad member, and then open Customize Appearance and Paint Color.
Outfits and tattoos follow a different route, which is why one Deluxe reward can appear while another seems absent. Hawks cosmetics are available during initial customization and later through the Den’s Customization Facility.
Check the entitlement before reinstalling the game
Start with the receipt: confirm Deluxe rather than Standard, and check the purchase date if the missing item is the preorder pack. Then confirm the game is using the same EA Account that owns the purchase and that Steam, Epic, PlayStation, or Xbox is linked to that account.
After that, install pending updates, restart the PC or console, reconnect to the internet, and check EA service status. Zero Company is single-player, but the game can still need a connection to download updates and deliver bonus entitlements. Keep proof of purchase if EA Support needs to trace the order.
You can start with Standard and upgrade later
EA’s support guide says Standard owners can buy a Deluxe Edition Upgrade. That makes Standard a sensible low-regret choice when you are undecided: play the opening hours, look at the customization screens, and only pay for the pack if the styles add something you will notice.
Check the upgrade listing in your own storefront before buying because regional availability, currency, and subscription discounts can differ from the US launch price. The upgrade adds Deluxe content, not expired preorder eligibility.

Is the Deluxe Edition really worth another $10?
Only if you will use the Clone armor, syndicate tattoos, Pyke helmet, or weapon paints. The published Deluxe list adds cosmetics, not more missions or stronger units.
Can I buy Standard now and upgrade later?
Yes. EA says Standard owners can buy the Deluxe Edition Upgrade. Check your platform store for its current regional price and availability.
Why can’t I see the painted weapons yet?
Finish the initial battle tutorial first. Then go to the Den, open the Armory, choose a squad member, and look under Customize Appearance → Paint Color.
Did Deluxe include the crystalline preorder droids?
Not by itself. The astromech pack required buying either edition before August 27, 2026. A post-launch Deluxe purchase does not qualify for that preorder reward.
Where are the Deluxe armor and tattoos?
Armor, uniforms, and the helmet are under Outfits. Tattoos are under Appearance → Body Art. After the tutorial, both can also be checked in the Den’s Customization Facility.
Does Deluxe add extra missions or better Operators?
EA’s current edition list names cosmetic packs and weapon themes only. It does not list an extra mission, Operator, stat boost, or tactical advantage as a Deluxe feature.
