Archives entity cue and survival matrix
Read the cue first. Several encounters punish the response that works against a different DOORS entity.
| Entity or hazard | Earliest useful cue | Immediate response | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drones | Sticky-note silhouettes nearby; the clock approaches 5:00 or 9:00. | Give idle Drones space. Leave the main path or use a closet or side room for the stampede. | The exact damage is patchable; Crowd Watching confirms a clean stampede survival. |
| Bash | A fast, fiery corridor threat with a strong approach cue. | Enter a closet or protected side space before it reaches the room. | It replaces the A-60 role but uses burn pressure rather than the old presentation. |
| Scribbles | Screen shake and papers sweeping through the route. | Use a closet, wall, or large pillar; do not stand exposed reading the room. | It is the A-120 rework. Safe distance varies with room geometry. |
| Ransom | A corrupted face or demand takes over the screen. | Stop inputs, follow the on-screen demand, and preserve a Gold reserve before deep sectors. | Launch reports agree on the Gold check but conflict on the exact failure penalty. |
| Forget-Me-Not | Blue flowers seal a doorway and start a repeated-room comparison. | Memorize the reference room; move forward if it matches and backtrack when a detail changes. | Perfect Memory is the verification badge for a clean solution. |
| Teller | A wheeled screen blocks the exit and displays a serving number. | Take the Waiting Ticket and return it during the matching number window. | Follow the live display rather than a memorized countdown after a server patch. |
| Alma | Crying or a grayscale face begins entering the camera in darker sectors. | Turn away and break line of sight; keep the floor in view while she circles. | Some launch reports also credit direct light, so that interaction remains marked for retest. |
| Honcho | The sector elevator diverts to an executive-office sequence. | Keep sorting boxes into their numbered places while breaking sight when the chase closes. | His appearance is not guaranteed in every run; badge routes may require repeats. |
| Portrait | A bathroom mirror cracks after prolonged attention. | Avoid triggering it during a normal clear; use a Hotel-start Crucifix route for its dedicated badge. | The copy and Crucifix interactions are optional badge objectives, not required progression. |
| Currents | Puddles sparkle and electrical audio rises. | Cross only during an uncharged interval and avoid treating the water as scenery. | Currents is a floor hazard rather than a roaming character. |
| Fih | A harmless aquarium encounter accepts a blue food bottle. | Feed it once if pursuing Feed the Fih; otherwise continue the run. | Fih is an interaction, not an enemy that needs a counter. |
Do not mix The Archives with The Stairwell
Noise, Creak, Stem, Meld, Creep, and Cobbler belong to the separate Stairwell route. They are often included in “new Archives entities” videos because both areas arrived together, but putting them in one survival list sends players into the wrong encounter logic.
This page keeps The Archives table focused on its office sectors. Stairwell mechanics appear only when the route distinction helps prevent a mistake.
Enter with Gold, healing, and an exit plan
Gold is no longer just shop currency. It can buy sector skips and answer Ransom pressure, so spending the balance to zero removes two safety tools at once. Keep Pizza or another healing option before entering a difficult lettered sector.
From Sector C onward, current walkthroughs place Emergency Exits at 50-door boundaries. Use one when the run has completed its objective instead of gambling every badge and item on another sector.
Handle the three old Rooms roles as new mechanics
Bash, Ransom, and Scribbles inherit the broad positions of A-60, A-90, and A-120, but the reaction is not a copy of the old Rooms guide. Bash brings burn pressure, Ransom turns movement and Gold into the test, and Scribbles attacks through exposed space.
Use their current names in the decision table while retaining the old-name mapping for returning players. Do not reuse historical damage values after the rework.
Solve progression encounters before they become chases
Forget-Me-Not rewards a calm room comparison, and Teller rewards watching the current number. Rushing either converts a short puzzle into damage or a chase. Take a reference glance before touching the main flower and keep the ticket visible while the number cycles.
Honcho is different: the task continues while he closes distance. Learn the numbered box layout before optimizing badge conditions such as carrying a Starlight Bottle.
Use badges as evidence, not decoration
Perfect Memory, Now Served, Crowd Watching, Carpet Burn, Firewall, Witness Protection, and Limitless Paper provide a stronger confirmation than “I took damage but lived.” If the expected badge does not register, the game may not have counted the encounter as a clean survival.
Badge names confirm the intended task, but hidden and newly patched conditions still require live testing. The page records uncertainty instead of converting a first-day observation into permanent rules.
Launch-week mechanics that still need retesting
Alma coverage currently disagrees on whether direct light is a dependable counter or merely helps her fade after sight is broken. The safest shared instruction is to avoid looking and break line of sight until the badge confirms survival.
Ransom sources also disagree on the precise failure result. Follow the live prompt, reserve Gold, and do not plan around one published damage or inventory-loss number until current servers produce a repeatable result.
Methodology and limits
The entity names and post-release behavior were compared across the live August 28 Roblox experience, two launch-week walkthroughs, badge conditions, and an independent Archives entity tracker. Conflicting Alma and Ransom reports are labeled instead of silently choosing one, and Stairwell-only threats are separated from The Archives.

DOORS guide FAQ
How do I enter The Archives in DOORS?
The live update provides a Lobby route, while a Hotel run can also reach the subfloor through its dedicated entrance. A Hotel start is required for objectives that depend on carrying Hotel items such as a Crucifix.
Are A-60, A-90, and A-120 still in The Archives?
Their roles were rebuilt as Bash, Ransom, and Scribbles. Use the new mechanics and names rather than an old Rooms damage chart.
What should I do when Ransom appears?
Stop unnecessary inputs, read the live demand, and use the Gold reserve you kept for the encounter. The exact failure penalty is still being retested after launch.
How do I survive Alma in The Archives?
Turn away and break line of sight while tracking her by sound. Direct-light reports currently conflict, so do not rely on staring at her with a flashlight.
Are Noise and Creak Archives entities?
They arrived in the same update but belong to The Stairwell, a different subfloor. Their movement rules should not be mixed into an Archives run.
Why did an Archives survival badge not unlock?
Taking the hit and continuing may not count as a clean survival. Repeat the encounter using its intended response and check whether the server is on the current update.
