Find the Summer door and Sand challenge
The route begins in FourSeasons rather than the standard arena. Enter the Summer door and continue to the Sand Obtainment area, where John’s surfboard starts the badge minigame.
If the interaction or Summer route is missing, join a server running the Sand update. An older server cannot be fixed by changing gloves or re-entering the normal arena.
Survive five days on John’s surfboard
The board gives you horizontal movement and a jump while hazards approach. You begin with four health points, so the goal is controlled survival rather than grabbing every possible opening.
Watch the next obstacle, move back toward the middle after a dodge, and save the jump for hazards that actually block the current lane. The challenge ends after five in-game days, not after a fixed number of jumps.
Why Estival Heatwaver may not unlock
A death before the fifth day ends restarts the attempt. Resetting or leaving before the badge confirmation can also make a successful-looking run fail to deliver the glove.
After a complete run, wait for the return and badge notice. If the badge is visible on the account but Sand is not in the glove list, rejoin one fresh server before repeating the entire challenge.
How Beach Day sets up Big Sandy Claws
Beach Day creates the sand lane first. Its initial contact slows, while remaining on the sand can cause a delayed launch. The line is most useful as space control, not as a button thrown at an empty part of the arena.
Big Sandy Claws depends on sand already being present and travels through that path. Place Beach Day where the opponent has limited exits, then trigger the claw when they commit to crossing or standing beside it.
Current Sand stats and limits
The current community-wiki record lists Sand at 53 Power and 15 Speed, with roughly nine seconds on Beach Day and ten seconds on Big Sandy Claws. Those are useful reference values, not permanent promises after a balance patch.
